General Update!

Hey, y'all! Yes, I know I owe everyone an apology - I have not updated my site for over two months! But, I'm back in the game now and geared up to keep things more up-to-date.

The last two months around here have been busy. The last two weeks around here have been insane. Jeremieh is swamped at work, I'm helping him, we all have been sick, I've planned two valentine parties (one for each of the girls' classes), I'm involved in Bible Study, attempting to work out at least 4 times a week, trying to keep up with laundry and housework, hosting our small church group gatherings at my house and frantically trying to sneak in a few paragraphs of a novel from time to time. I've been so exhausted that I've barely made it to 8:00 these last few nights. I am hoping that things start to slow down soon!

Here's what the girls are up to:

Madison is plugging away at second grade. She still loves her teacher (and so do I!) and is still doing great at school. She had to complete a biography of someone she admires and she chose Miley Cyrus. She loves doing art, but doesn't care for her art teacher. Since my last post Madison has turned 8 and she is quite proud of that. We celebrated by going to the circus and taking her out to Texas Roadhouse, which is where she wanted to go. The girl is a down-home red-meat eater! :o) Madison is also into High School Musical, Hannah Montana, the Disney Channel, sidewalk chalk, playing the computer, her music, playing Nintendo (yes, the old-school kind), and hula-hooping. Remember how we used to freak out because Madison would surprise us with "spiritual" stuff, etc? Well, today she told me that she sees spirits sometimes, but only the nice ones....I asked her how she knew they were spirits and she said she just knew. Creepy.

Ella has regressed to throwing tantrums. I hate this. I think it has something to do with her starting to outgrow nap-taking. She really needs a daily nap, but with our busy schedule and her increasing independence she has really been fighting me. She is very stubborn. The days she doesn't take a nap she is sleeping for the night by 6:30 or 7:00. We are really just having to take one day at a time. Ella has discovered the computer and will play on it all day if I let her. She loves to play games and go on Webkinz and I'm surprised how quickly she grasped maneuvering the mouse and everything...Ella still loves school. She loves singing and dancing and hopscotch. She loves doing crafts. She loves, loves, loves Lucky, our dog. Ella has a sinus infection right now and isn't feeling the greatest. She is so congested and snotty. Plus she's irritable as an old goat. She started an antibiotic on Friday, so she should be clearing up pretty soon.

The weather here has been very nice. - in the high 50's and mid-60's with sunshine. It's been great. I even have daffodils that are blooming! It still gets pretty chilly at night, but not terribly bad. I can't wait until it is warm enough to open the windows and let some fresh air in.

Jeremieh has been very, very busy with work. Typically he has 3 or so jobs going at one time, but right now he has about 8. It makes it even harder when the jobs are all over, so there is lots of driving around all over the upstate and beyond. Other than work, Jeremieh doesn't have much going on.

I hope everyone is doing well up north. I know its cold and I wish you warmth and patience to get through the last of your winter weather. Our next trip up north is the last week in May. I am praying that it will be nice by then; I'm optimistic that it will be.

Take care everyone,
love and miss you,
Nicki

PS - Here's a picture of me and Ella toasting the morning. She's holding the mug she painted at a "paint-your-own-pottery" studio. :o)
