OK, so I am reading this book, Face to Face with God, by Bill Johnson. It is rocking my world. It talks about how we can have the presence of God in our lives, how we can bring His kingdom to this earthly world, how he wants us to KNOW him. Not just know about Him, about what He does, or about His goodness. He wants us to get to know Him like a best friend. He wants us to spend time with Him, to be intimate with Him, even to share our deepest secrets with Him (even though He already knows them!)
So anyway, I was praying about this last night in bed, pondering about what this means for me and for God. I was also praying about the girls going back to school, about Jeremieh's business, about this new writing venture I am embarking on. I was lying on my stomach in bed, my eyes closed, my face turned toward Jeremieh. As I was asking God to speak to me, the most amazing thing happened. In a the matter of a few seconds, it felt as though a bird swooped through the room, its flapping wings brushing up against my ear. My entire body was covered in goose bumps. The experience was so real that I propped myself up on my elbow and looked for the "bird" that had just given me a fly-by. Of course there was nothing I could visibly see in the room, no literal "bird," but I have no question I was touched by the Holy Spirit. I am so thankful the Holy Spirit gave me a sign of His presence. It is something I will never forget. I feel like I am on a cloud today, just overflowing with His peace!
Today my prayer is that everyone gets a chance to experience the presence of God. It was an awesome manifestation of the Holy Spirit and I am thankful to the Lord because of how great He is!
