Most ladies have a group of friends that they hang out with, share with, are close to, etc. I have never been one of those ladies. I have always been a little bit of an outsider, not really fitting in, not really reaching out and trying to meet and cultivate friendships with people. I think maybe because I have not always been comfortable in my own skin, I have been filled with self-doubt and really lacking the confidence to open myself up to people. So for the last fifteen or so years, I've really stayed to myself, protecting those parts of me that I've been afraid to let come through for fear of rejection or criticism. It is a lot easier to stay inside and hide and not get out of your comfort zone.
Since moving to South Carolina, the Lord has really been working on me to open myself up and show my vulnerabilities. He has surrounded me with ladies that have shown me nothing but love and acceptance. This group of moms that I spend time with love the Lord, love each other and are so accepting and supportive. I love that in His time I am able to open up and share with them. I love that we talk about all sorts of things, from sex to sports to kids. We are sharing life together and that is really what life is about.
So for everyone that met last night at Carrabba's - thank you! I had a great time and I love spending time with you all.
Ang - love you! I think that the Lord knew I have always wanted a sister and He gave me you instead! I love hanging out with you!
